It’s not that the Beeb is hiring illiterates for the sake of DEI (although they might be). BBC has an entire news service dedicated to articles written in pidgin English.

Even quotes are translated into pidgin. Ed Merritt, described as a professor of kinesiology at Southwestern University in Texas, is quoted as saying,

“Exercise is important for overall health, but di calories you dey burn during exercise fit easily dey replaced by food.”

The idea is to pander to blacks, who can’t be expected to comprehend proper English. Once again we see that no one is more insultingly racist than condescending liberals.
