Wishful thinking: Pelosi suggests Trump won’t show up for debate

U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) took an unsurprising dig at former President Donald Trump, suggesting he is a coward who will be a no-show at the forthcoming debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.

The former House speaker thinks she knows Trump and told a liberal audience at the Texas Tribune Festival that the Republican nominee may not even “show up” for the ABC News-hosted debate on September 10.

Pelosi spoke with journalist Kara Swisher who asked the 84-year-old Democrat what advice she had for Trump whom she bashed in predictable fashion throughout her interview. Swisher joked that the two are “super close.”

“You think he’s gonna show up?” Pelosi replied after pausing for dramatic effect.

“Do you know something I don’t know?” Swisher asked, sparking laughter and applause from the crowd when Pelosi shrugged, smiling.

“I know cowardice when I see it,” the pretentious Democrat declared.

Swisher brought up comments by former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney who called Trump a “misogynist pig” during a previous Texas Tribune Festival.

“Isn’t she wonderful?” Pelosi gushed about the RINO who was part of the sham Jan. 6 committee.

Pelosi has been a member of the House since 1987, representing California’s 11th congressional district including most of San Francisco, She explained that “Speaker” is still her title though “Speaker Emerita” is her current position.

Trump’s campaign blasted the Democrat for attempting to spread “fake news.”

“Nancy Pelosi has no idea what she is talking about and has been proven to be a liar and fraud. If she isn’t busy giving herself fake titles to make herself feel better, she’s peddling fake news because it’s the only thing she’s ever done,” Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung told Fox News Digital.

In a Truth Social post in July, Trump said Pelosi “wouldn’t last 5 minutes” in a debate against him.

“Crazy Nancy Pelosi is a Cognitive mess. She has now turned against Crooked [President Biden.] She’s saying he doesn’t have what it takes,” Trump wrote, at a time when Pelosi was conspiring with other Democrats to push President Joe Biden off the election ticket.

“Really? I’d love to debate her about what the Radical Left Democrats have done to ruin our Country. She wouldn’t last 5 minutes!” Trump said.

In another post at the time, Trump declared that Pelosi “also suffers from a terminal case of TDS, Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
