A lot of chatter online suggested that Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow joined the call. A popular X account, Kamala’s Wins, which has a hefty following of over 550,000, claimed that Burrow was on the Zoom supporting Harris. But hold on—before you start picturing Burrow giving a political speech, let’s set the record straight.

The Bengals quickly denied the claim, with a spokesperson confirming to the Cincinnati Enquirer that Burrow was not on the call. Kamala’s Wins later deleted the post, but not before it had already sparked quite the conversation.

The rumors didn’t stop with Burrow. Another viral tweet suggested that New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff also participated in the pro-Harris session. But according to Front Office Sports, sources close to both Jones and Goff said they weren’t on the Zoom either. It seems like misinformation was spreading faster than a football on game day.

The “White Dudes for Harris” call did feature some big names, including actors Mark Hamill and Jeff Bridges, singer Josh Groban, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA). The organizers of the event claimed they raised over $4 million for Harris’s campaign during the session, which is no small feat.

During the call, the speakers didn’t just talk about their support for Harris; they also took the opportunity to criticize former President Donald Trump, making it clear where they stood in the upcoming 2024 race.

Now, back to Burrow. The Bengals quarterback has generally stayed away from politics during his NFL career, and despite the recent rumors, he hasn’t made any public statements about the 2024 race.
