Why is it a bad idea to show a lot of interest?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy a property and am reading how to negotiate the price. I keep reading over and over again that you shouldn’t come across as too keen. Why is this?

If I am speaking to you, as a buyer, and tell you I really like your property but have my reservations on the price, would you not be more accommodating for someone who is serious about buying?
